Sick And Tired Of Doing Indoor Playground The Old Way? Read This

If you live in an area such as we do in Western New York (we are in Rochester!) With superbly hot summers and cold snowy winters, you will understand your options for your child's birthday celebration are mostly determined by the weather.
As an August baby, we always had small family parties outside at my house. But, with sons born in November and March, we are always left to reserve an indoor venue for their parties, if we chose to have them that season. While those with kids with summer birthdays might appear blessed to have so many options at their disposal, it may also often feel overwhelming.
While in Climbing Vines Cafe and Play we might be biased because we sponsor indoor celebrations, I wished to share with you the 5 most common reasons we hear from past party clients to book indoor summer birthdays with us. To them, the stress-free temperament of the indoor summertime celebration is a no-brainer, and they're not looking back! After their first indoor summer celebration they continue hosting with us year after year.

1) NO WEATHER WORRIES

The most common cause for a client to book a summer indoor party with us is so they don't need to stalk the weather prediction for updates in the weeks leading up to the celebration. Nothing can derail a pleasure party faster than having to cram all your visitors within your home, waiting for a storm to pass. And if you've ever had to cancel or postpone your child's birthday due to weather, you realize how heartbreaking that could be.
We receive dozens of calls every summer a few days before someone's outdoor celebration is supposed to happen to find out if we have an open slot for them in our indoor celebration venue because of weather woes. We can normally pull this off if the spot remains open, but hosts will unfortunately have to scramble and let all their guests are aware of the change in venue and likely shift in time, and also change all their catering requests to accommodate their new party plan.
While of course rain is most likely the biggest obstacle you might face, intense heat, unseasonably cool weather, and wind may also pose problems to your decorations, food, and your guests' possessions. You will probably end up investing in a kayak another weather barrier simply to ease your mind a bit, which can be costly and require lots of precious time to set up and take down. I will not even tell the narrative of this time my Dad put a tent up for a celebration in a windstorm and wound up with a insurance coverage for 4 ruined cars when it withdrew (weights and anchors and all!) ...

2) CHANGING IT UP

Aside from the obvious weather worries it's possible to avoid with an indoor celebration, there can also just be something really simple and lovely about a indoor summer party. Guests won't need to worry about bringing sunscreen and towels and towels and swimsuits and changes of clothing and insect spray... you get the picture.
Sometimes it's nice to have a short break in the outside, sip coffee in an air borne cafe, also have a real conversation with other adults while the children play, rather than chasing kids around attempting to receive their hat on them or keeping them away from the in-ground pool. I am not sure about you, but I could never really relax at an outdoor summer birthday celebration with a two and a 4 year old. While they sure do have a fantastic time running around, we usually leave at a daze or with a tantrum, unsure whether we had time to talk or check in with everybody.
While I absolutely love a good barbecue or summertime grilling extravaganza, I find it so refreshing when we can take a rest from the same-old backyard bash and spend a couple of hours at a relaxing, cool, and most importantly-- contained! -- atmosphere.
It's also freeing as a guest to have the rest of the day to do as we wish as a family and not have to worry about getting the kids to a bath right after the celebration or stopping home to cool off and change clothes.
I guarantee that if you book an indoor celebration for your child, guests (particularly family) may appear a little confused at first (why not take advantage of the summer weather while we could, right?) But after hosting hundreds of indoor parties I can tell you for sure that on the day-of, you and your guests will realize how pleasant it is to reunite within an air-conditioned private party for a couple hours.

Speaking of how relaxing an indoor, air-conditioned party can be, can we discuss food for a moment?
Right now, my sweet 4 year old boy is terrified of bees, and the quickest way to send him into a tailspin would be for him to sit down to eat a cupcake or his meal and also have bees swarming around. So, for our loved ones, the meals factor alone would be enough to warrant an indoor celebration.
Eating in peace without needing to find shade or a chair or a location away from pests is just one of these things you do not realize can be so magnificent before you attend your fourth or fourth outside summer gathering and THEN get a rest from them. Among the most common things we hear is how nice it's to just sit and eat and see the kiddos play with no any venue-related cares or concerns. This is going to be particularly important if you're going to be needing older family members attend who will battle with being mobile in the sand or marijuana and finding seating at outside parties.
Plus, when was the last time you attended an outdoor summer party with a full espresso bar and cafe available for guests to enjoy now that they don't need to be concerned about running around chasing their kids in the heat?

4) DECOR OPTIONS GALORE

While party aesthetic might not be a deciding factor for each and every family, it sure is significantly easier to make a themed extravaganza which lighting a youngster's face up as soon as the party's inside. The decorations demanded are often less because the area is smaller and contained contained, and you won't need to worry about balloons and streamers blowing all about or securing table covers down.
Since we do host mobile events outdoors at Climbing Vines Cafe and Play, I will also speak from experience once I say the time it takes to set up (and take down!) Decorations for an outside celebration compared to a indoor celebration usually ends up being double. Finding good places to hang banner, needing two people to maintain and protect everything, and locating weights or other restraints for everything can be a true hassle on party day.
And you will have enough to worry about this afternoon, right?
Also, if your pinterest planks are filled with adorable figurines, a candy bar, or anything that could possibly be affected by wind (or bring bees!) You will likely have to restrategize for an outdoor soiree.
And of course decor typically can only be utilized once if used outside, but repurposed again and if used for an indoor event. Our guests who sponsor indoor events, notably those who invested significant money into decoration or worked hard to make their very own, are very happy to find they can usually make a huge chunk of the money back by reselling their supplies something like Facebook Marketplace.
5) YOU MAY ACTUALLY SAVE MONEY
Speaking of money, probably the greatest misconception I hear from clients is that they want to host a party in their home to save themselves the leasing fee of an indoor space. I usually laugh at this because it makes perfect sense, in other words, if you've never hosted an outdoor party.
With all the"extras" like tents, chair rentals, extra decorations, weather reinforcements, clean-up supplies, games and activities for the kids (which you won't need to provide at a play area!) It is very likely you are going to wind up spending MUCH more hosting a party at your home or an outdoor venue than you would inside.
I'm not sure how other indoor spaces handle their supplies, but we only charge guests for extra beverages and provides and these on the afternoon of the party should they end up needing them, and we also enable parties to attract in their OWN meals, dessert, and decoration should they choose!
Money aside, spending countless hours cleaning before, during, and after the party can also have a toll. Wouldn't it be nice to walk into a sparkling clean area and leave with your guests when the party's over, not needing to worry about the cleanup, trash removal, tent teardown, etc?
It's possible to just head home and relax with your family (yes, maybe outside!) At a nice clean house that wasn't just trampled by party guests and all their mud, grass, and sunscreen.
In addition to the time spent cleaning before and after the celebration, would not it ALSO be nice to not have to play"host" throughout the event? For customers that bring in their own food and decoration, our committed celebration assistants set everything up, refill and mend food and https://www.childhoodperceptions.com/ drinks as needed, clear dishes, cut and serve the cake, and package up all the leftovers in the end of the celebration!
In the end, it's your child's special day and you wish to spend those precious hours making memories and visiting with your guests-- not running around chasing your decorations or refilling the fruit bowl countless times.
So save everybody (and especially your family!) Plenty of stress, time, and stress by booking your event with us this summer. We would be honored to provide you with an easy, enjoyable experience that will leave your whole guest list feeling joyful, grateful, and filled with love after spending a relaxing (yet fun-filled!) day together.
